I use Umami, a privacy-focused analytics tool, to see which pages and projects are useful, so I can improve the content and the services I offer.

Each visit records the page viewed, the referring site, an approximate location (country and region, derived from your IP address without storing it), and your browser, operating system and device type. Nothing more.

My analytics set no cookies and store nothing on your device. No cross-site tracking, no advertising profiles and no attempt to identify individual visitors.

The only cookies that may appear are strictly necessary security cookies set by Cloudflare (such as “cf_clearance”) to protect the site from abuse. As only strictly necessary cookies are used, none require consent, which is why there is no cookie banner.

This site is hosted on Cloudflare, which processes your IP address and standard request data to deliver the site and defend it against attacks, and may set the strictly necessary security cookies noted above.

Analytics are additionally processed on my behalf by Umami Cloud (Umami Software, Inc.) on EU-based infrastructure. Both act as data processors under a data-processing agreement.

The legal basis is my legitimate interest in understanding and improving this website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). As no personal data is stored, only aggregate statistics are retained, for as long as they remain useful.

Enable “Do Not Track” in your browser and this site will not record your visit. Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction and objection, and the right to lodge a complaint with the Austrian Data Protection Authority (Datenschutzbehörde, dsb.gv.at).
